NAPLES, FL. August 30 – Andrew Hill Investment Advisors Inc., an investment and financial management services firm, will host a free Estate Planning for Animal Lovers seminar on Wednesday, September 8th at noon. This seminar is targeted toward estate planning attorneys and will be held at the firm’s offices at 1395 Panther Lane, Suite 210.

Attorney Danny Meek, a specialist in the pet planning area, will make the presentation. This seminar is a complimentary 1.00 hour CLE opportunity for estate planning attorneys and will provide an overview of the various techniques of estate planning for owners of pets and companion animals. This includes short-term options such as emergency preparations and the use of the power of attorney for pet owners. On a longer-term basis, the alternatives to be discussed and explored include the history of bequests to animals and that evolution based upon the Uniform Probate Code and the Uniform Trust Code.

The various components of the traditional trust, including the selection of an inter vivos versus a testamentary trust, will be analyzed as they specifically apply to pet trusts. The seminar also will review the Statutory Florida Pet Trust, effective as of July 1, 2007, and compare and contrast its usage to the traditional trust for the benefit of an animal.

Seating is limited to 12 participants and lunch will be served. For reservations, please call Jennifer R. Figurelli at 239-777-3129 or send an email to fig@responsibleadvisors.com.
